FAQs

  • How can the elderly benefit from physiotherapy?

As we age, the body’s joints naturally begin to degenerate, leading to stiffness, pain, and reduced mobility. Regular physiotherapy helps slow down this degeneration significantly. Even mild to moderate exercise under expert supervision can improve balance, flexibility, and joint strength — reducing the risk of falling down and fractures. Physiotherapy is also vital before and after surgeries such as TKR and THR to strengthen muscles and ligaments, promote faster healing, and restore movement. At Jaya Physio Clinics, we provide specialized geriatric programs designed to maintain mobility and independence in older adults.

  • By what age should senior citizens start exercising?

Ideally, fitness and mobility exercises should be a lifelong habit. However, it becomes especially important to begin joint-longevity and mobility programs from the early 50s. For individuals with chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart ailments, it is advisable to start guided exercise programs in the mid-40s, under professional supervision. Even if you never exercised regularly, it’s not too late to begin. Consult your doctor or our physiotherapy experts first, and then start mild, safe exercises suited to your abilities.

  • Can knee pain or arthritis be treated without surgery?

Absolutely. Our knee pain physiotherapy protocol aims to reduce pain, improve joint mobility, and delay or even avoid surgical intervention. Techniques include strengthening exercises, manual therapy, and electrotherapy. We also offer home-based physiotherapy for suitable elderly patients.

  • Is physiotherapy a long-term solution?

Yes. Unlike temporary pain relief methods, physiotherapy addresses the underlying issue, helping you achieve sustainable results and prevent recurrence.

  • Do you treat surgical cases?

Yes. We provide pre- and post-surgery rehab physiotherapy for procedures like total knee replacement (TKR), total hip replacement (THR), ligament repair (eg. ACL knee), fracture recovery, etc.

  • How soon after surgery can I start physiotherapy?

In most cases, rehab physiotherapy begins within 24–48 hours after surgery, depending on your surgeon’s advice.

  • What is the duration of each session? How many sessions would I need in total?

Typically, each session lasts around 45 minutes. The total number of sessions depends on your medical condition and its severity. We will discuss these points with you in detail, during your initial consultation.

  • What are the treatment fees?

Our initial consultation fee is Rs. 800. Your treatment fees would depend on the type and severity of the condition. Your total treatment fees would be explained to you immediately after the initial consultation.

  • Do you provide home physiotherapy services?

Yes, we offer home physiotherapy visits for patients in Madhapur, Kondapur, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Gachibowli, and nearby areas of Hyderabad. This is ideal for elderly patients or for those recovering from surgery who prefer treatment at home.

  • What should I bring for my first visit?

Please bring any medical reports, X-rays, MRI scans, or prescriptions related to your condition. If you have a knee condition, it is suggested to wear shorts, so that we can examine you easily.
